WIP: cowl

Here’s a glimpse at what’s on my needles right now: a linen-stitch cowl made from hand-dyed yarn from the lovely Amy of Cajun Fiber Co.. These pics are not very true to color, but I’ll take better ones when it’s finished. This yarn is YUMMY–organic merino, very soft, not itchy or rough at all, even next to the skin. I love it. And the colorway [called Fish Pond] is lovely. I wasn’t sure how much I would like the gray that’s in it, but it turns out that I like it a lot. Plus it will pick up the color of my gray winter coat.

yarn shop!

We drove up to a yarn shop yesterday–fun times!

Mary liked the outside of the shop:

I have major spinning wheel lust.

…which leads directly to roving lust. [Unspun fiber is called roving.]

But I would definitely settle for some yarn.

I like “Copper Penny” [the colorway second from the right].

I seem to be in a red/orange/brown kind of mood.

The kids had a great time.
